When Jake returned to California in 2011, he continued to consult while attaining his MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management. His thesis studied the effects of cost-saving technology on economy hotel brands using state-of-the-art regression modeling.

In 2012, Jake’s career shifted from design/build to finance and analytics at sbe, one of the world’s premier restaurant, nightlife, and hotel developers. While providing traditional financial underwriting, he combined market assessment, brand positioning, and operational knowledge supporting brand expansions of $100M megabrands like The Abbey Food + Bar, the highest grossing LGBT nightlife venue in the world, and Hyde Lounge, which has become a globally recognized leader in lifestyle hospitality.

Over the next decade, Jake became an industry expert and senior corporate leader, working in progressive finance roles at hospitality giants including Joie de Vivre/Two Roads, Sydell Group, and SoHo House. His work included full oversight of enterprise-level technology platforms and organization-wide annual budgeting for portfolios with $50M to $500M annual revenue under management, culminating in being named Senior Vice President of FP&A at EOS Hospitality in New York City.
